Show up at the 29 Palms City Council meeting, Tuesday Sept 8 at 6 pm!

The City of Twentynine Palms can play an important role in the fight against the Music Valley Mine.  The National Parks Conservation Association (NPCA) will be giving a brief presentation on the issue at the City Council Meeting on Tuesday, Sept 8 at 6 pm, and residents are encouraged to be there to comment with your concerns. 

Per Chance Wilcox of NPCA:

We will be suggesting a moratorium on the use of City roads for commercial mining purposes at this meeting, as well as encouraging the City Council to utilize their “sphere of influence” with the County to perhaps implement further protections….

Lately, the City Council has been interested in economic impacts and neighborhood/road impacts, particularly in the Hansen Tract, and we ask that your comments focus on these issues to hammer the issue home. I know that the City is interested in reaching out to Dateline to gather more perspective and it would be great for the community to show up and demonstrate that giving a mining company even a courtesy conversation is too much and puts the community at risk. Please be courteous, respectful, and brief.
